North Carolina Medical Board Site Launched
May 28, 2009Last July we were contacted by the North Carolina Medical Board and asked to review their website. It wasn’t pretty. The old site had been constructed with frames and had a variety of organizational and esthetic issues. Fortunately, the public relations department at the board was up to the challenge of coordinating the site redesign and alignment.
The challenges were many. The site serves two distinct audiences; the general public and the medical community. The site needed to accommodate both audiences and serve the needs of the various departments within the organization. One of the principal site functions is to facilitate the licensure and license renewal of medical professionals. Much of this functionality is managed by a database vendor, so we had to coordinate with this vendor to insure seamless integration with their system.
Without the assistance, cooperation and confidence of the staff of the Medical Board this project could have gone horribly off track. The public relations, operations and IT departments of the board were a joy to work with and trusted us completely with their site. We are extremely proud of how this site turned out and hope to use the experience as a model for future projects of this scope.
