In-depth
Wake County WIC, a nutrition program for Women Infants and Children, wanted to provide information about the services available through their agency. Their target audience, physicians in Wake County, North Carolina, are busy professionals accustomed to receiving a dizzying variety of sophisticated marketing materials. The officials at WIC felt they needed a strong design if their package was going to receive any attention.
WIC had decided on the format—brochures describing their Pre-Natal Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program and their In-Home Breastfeeding Support Services, a pocket folder to hold the brochures and referral forms, and a CD containing digital versions of the referral forms. We suggested adding an interactive interface to the CD that included links to online resources as well as the forms. WIC personnel loved the idea, so we went to work.
We started by creating two versions of the brochures for WIC to choose from. We then created the other materials and the interface for the CD, keeping to the theme developed in the chosen brochures. After final proofing and testing of the CD, we managed the production of the pieces and delivered the final product.
