Kung Fu Nation works almost exclusively with music artists offering screenprinting and fulfillment services. Their clients include Beck, Sonic Youth, the White Stripes, and others. Each artist has their own website which links to the Kung Fu Nation store. Kung Fu needed a way to allow the store to have a custom appearance when accessed through the artist’s site that would blend in with the artist’s site.

We use Zen Cart for the majority of our e-commerce solutions and decided to exploit the latest release’s ability to use CSS style sheets. We custom coded a Zen Cart module to allow Kung Fu Nation staff to create custom CSS style sheets and URLs for each artist, allowing incoming traffic to a particular artist to take on an appearance more similar to the artist’s site. Session ID’s keep the appearance of the store consistent throughout the checkout procedure. This solution allows Kung Fu Nation to offer each of their clients a custom store while only having to maintain one database of product and one hosting account.
